With experiences and training in education, fashion, art theories and practices, I explore a variety of approaches to express who I am. Passionate about my practices, I strive to inspire other people to like myself, find their own voice in art.

Fusion
Mixed Media
Fusion is an avant-garde representation of Baianas, traditional and often misinterpreted Afro Brazilian icons.
By combining my training and skills in fashion and studio art, this project presents a cohesive representation of 3 different Baianas, including the well-known Carmen Miranda. Also attached to a Honors College thesis, the project is also accompanied by a complex research about the theme.
By manipulating a range of materials - from glass to papier mache, fabric and rocks - the well detailed glimmering collection intends to strike the viewer's attention to reflect on stereotypes while promoting a more coherent Brazilian identity.
